Get the message, Mr. President?

Does anyone else think that the recent Harriet Miers brouhaha brings aditional insight into how things are actually run in this administration? Cheney and Rove have been distracted by the investigation into their apparent involvement in getting even with Joe Wilson, who told the truth about WMD and the Bush League lies leading to the Iraq war. They may not have been fully in the loop about the Miers nomination, thinking that the woman was leading a search for a candidate. Perhaps she discovered herself, as Cheney did when he was heading the committee to find a vice presidential candidate for Bush. Or maybe not.

Maybe Bush and Harriet are just so close that he decided to reward her zeal and opinions of him by nominating her for the vacancy without checking with his distracted advisor, and the man he calls Vice, or his fanatic fringe “base.” At any rate, he did it. He nominated his very good friend and personal lawyer, Harriet, surprising everyone.

And who worked hardest, before any hearings even started, to bring down the unfortunate nomination of Harriet Miers, who seems distinguished most by her lack of distinction? Bush’s ultra right wingnut “base.” And they did it.

That seems to say, “Sit down and shut up, George; you know you are not really in charge here!”

Some have suspected it all along. This has just been one more little drama to provide evidence that W is a puppet. And when he slipped his strings and became a real boy for a few days, he got into all sorts of trouble with his merry band of Giapettos, the behind the scenes owners of the administration.

You can bet the next nominee will have the blessing of the ultraconservatives before the name is announced. Who knows? We may have been better off with an unqualified Harriet than the person that group will choose.

Dana,
When George the First made his comment about entering a "New World Order" It made my hair stand on end. I do not NECESSARILLY subscribe to consiracy theories, but the stated agenda of the Illuminati so closely parallels what is happening in our government today that it is frightening.

Permit me to quote:
"There is a worldwide conspiracy being orchestrated by an extremely powerful and influential group of genetically-related individuals (at least at the highest echelons) which include many of the world's wealthiest people, top political leaders, and corporate elite, as well as members of the so-called Black Nobility of Europe (dominated by the British Crown) whose goal is to create a One World (fascist) Government, stripped of nationalistic and regional boundaries, that is obedient to their agenda. Their intention is to effect complete and total control over every human being on the planet and to dramatically reduce the world's population by 5.5 Billion people. While the name New World Order is a term frequently used today when referring to this group, it's more useful to identify the principal organizations, institutions, and individuals who make up this vast interlocking spiderweb of elite conspirators."

Now, if the Euro is not a step in the right direction, what is? If the non response to the New Orleans disaster, leaving thousands of poor homeless and desperate and hundreds dead is not in the agenda to reduce world population, what is?

If rigging the elections of the most powerful nation in the world does not fit the mold, what does? Remember that Shrub was appointed the first time around and the second time, there were so many falsified votes in the red states that the mind boggles.

They are a powerful force and their agenda is being met at a frightening rate.

A recent Wal-Mart directive stated: "it is far easily and far less costly to change the public's perception of reality than to change reality itself."
(Read the whole manifesto yourself for a real eye-opener)http://www.infoshop.org/inews/article.php?...051027144613826

These forces are incideous and we are just pawns to suit their goals: World Domination

for someone who says he isn't NECESSARILY a conspiracy theorist, ogden sure describes an intricate conspiracy. my problem with his idea is that republicans all seem so greedy for their own benefits, and i can't imagine the gray old white guys who are running the country being so dedicated to his conspiracy for future generations to realize, if it is successful. they want to rule now, to get even richer now, to have their way now. they are not dedicated enough to work for a new order for a time after their death, like the lenin communists were.

They pretty much dominate the world now. But to advance to the new order described above means lots of changes over years of erosion of our rights and all. I agree, the ones holding the country hostage now won't be alive to dominate the world the way Smapp predicts. So I doubt they care about setting up those who come later to be in charge of the world. They want it now. But China may beat them to it.

do you think the miers fiasco was a plot to set us up for a more conservative person we don't dare criticize? I mean, could he really be so dumb to seriously consider her? But now we hear praise that he picked an experienced judge, etc. Never mind that the guy is an ultraconservative representing far fewer than the vast majority of citizens on many issues. but who dares criticize? we said miers lacked experience and qualifications. so now we arent going to hear many loud complaints about an experienced and qualified pick.

Bush and Cheney are rumored to be on the outs. Ever since that time when Cheney didn't notify Bush that they were evacuating the West Wing and putting Laura in a bunker.

Then Cheney went on vacation and let Bush mishandle Katrina response on his helpless own.

If it were not so tragic, it would be funny.
